Stagger your starts or stack them
It takes a lot more time and energy to get something into motion than to sustain it once it’s moving: physics, emotions, team culture and habits, you name it.
You can work with this by staggering your starts over time—letting one new thing transition from its early expensive phases to becoming routine, and only then starting another new thing.
Or you can stack up a whole lot of new things all at once, put aside your usual day-to-day routines for a bit, and dive in all at once, resuming the day-to-day as your new things become more routine over a few weeks.
I’d advise not trying to combine these, though: lumping a bunch of new things on top of your usual routine all at once is a surefire way to have you and your team conclude the new changes were impossible from the start.
